The West Virginia Medical Political Action Committee (WESPAC), the political action committee of the West Virginia State Medical Association (WVSMA), has announced its strong endorsement of Governor Jim Justice for reelection in the 2020 General Election.
“The political action committee of the West Virginia State Medical Association is very pleased to inform you that our members strongly endorse you as the West Virginia Gubernatorial candidate in the 2020 General Election. Your dedication to the state of West Virginia is acknowledged and appreciated as we navigate the current pandemic,” said Dr. Joseph Prud’homme, Chair of WESPAC, and practicing physician at the Orthopedic Clinic at the WVU Medicine University Town Centre in Morgantown.
The WVSMA is West Virginia’s largest and most influential physician-led organization. Membership consists of active physicians, retirees, residents, and student members. The WVSMA serves as the unified voice for medicine and the premier authority for evidence-based health policy in West Virginia.
“Governor Justice welcomes the endorsement of our doctors and the state’s medical community and thanks them for their commitment to West Virginians’ healthcare, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike his liberal opponent, who has sued doctors, which increases healthcare costs, Governor Justice will always listen to our doctors and healthcare experts to ensure the health and safety of all West Virginians,” concluded Clay Sutton, communications director for Governor Justice’s reelection campaign.
